A Cozy Cup of Tea for You and Your Plants
Feeling too tired to mix up foliar sprays and fertilizers? Let your plants share your routine:
- Brew a gentle tea (like chamomile, green tea, or rooibos)
- Sip your cup and let the bag cool
- Dilute the leftover tea with water (1 part tea to 3 parts water) and give it to your plants
Chamomile calms both you and your plant—it can soothe stressed roots and fend off fungus, too.
Get in Touch and Really Sync With Your plants
Instead of tracking every watering date, anchor your plant care to something natural:
- Check soil moisture when you open your window
- Mist leaves when you mist your own face or water your hair
- Water plants on the same day you do laundry (your “reset” day)
Plant care then becomes part of your existing flow—not something that steals from your energy.
Natural Leaf Care, The Calm and Comfortable Way
Dusty leaves block light and slow growth—but you don’t need a fancy cleaner.
Mix:
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp neem oil (natural pest repellent)
- A few drops of mild castile soap
Spray lightly and wipe with a soft cloth (or even an old cotton T-shirt). Do this while you’re already on the phone, listening to music, or zoning out. It’s mindless and satisfying.
Low-Energy Pest Control
No panic. No pesticides. No overwhelm.
- Cinnamon: Sprinkle on top of soil to prevent fungus and gnats
- Neem spray: Use once a week on high-risk plants
- Isolation corner: Have one space for “meh” plants to recover—somewhere away from your best growers
It’s okay to not fix everything right away. Just like you, plants bounce back with rest. Sometimes if I am feeling like I don’t have the time to show a plant the love that I think it needs, I’ll gift it to someone who can.
